How to make peach cobbler

Peach cobbler is mainly eaten in southern areas. It’s the perfect dessert for southern guests, but we all know that guests avoid consuming gluten. So, here I will tell you the delicious recipe for gluten-free peach cobbler made from sweet peaches with a desirable butter crust. This peach cobbler is as tasty and easy as your grandmother made for you.

For this gluten-free peach cobbler, we are using gluten-free flour. While buying this in the market, you must check the ingredients that it doesn’t have any additional material like gum or other binding compounds.

First of collect the seasonal sweet peaches. I recommend you to use seasonal peaches because they are more healthy, refreshing, sweet, and soft. So, because of all these qualities, they are perfect to use in a cobbler. Taste your peaches and adjust the sugar level that we are adding to the cobbler. If your peaches are sweet, we add less sugar.

But we are using sugar not only for sweet taste it also to make the cobbler crust soft, juicy, and golden color thanks to the caramelization of sugar. 

How to Choose Peaches 

The tree-ripened peaches with a sweet and soft texture. The tasty peaches have soft, smooth deep yellow and red-orange colors. Beauties are ready to eat when they have a speech aroma and are firm but not pressed for pressure.

Ingredients

  • Fresh or frozen, peeled, washed, and dried peaches     4 cups
  • Sugar                                                                                ¾ cup
  • Almond extract                                                                 ½ teaspoon 
  • Melted Butter                                                                     ⅓ cup 
  • Gluten-free all-purpose flour                                              ¾ cup 
  • Baking Powder                                                                   2 teaspoons  
  • Salt                                                                                     1 pinch 
  • Milk vanilla ice cream                                                          ¾ cup

(Vanilla ice cream is optional)

Instructions 

For Peach Filling

  1. Preheated the oven at 350 °F.  Take a large bowl, add peaches and  ¼ cup of sugar and almond extract. Place it aside.
  2. Spread the melted butter on a 2-liter baking sheet.

Mix the Glutten-free Mixture

  1. Mix the gluten-free flour, baking powder, remaining salt, and sugar in a small bowl.
  2. Add milk and mix well until all lumps are smooths. Pour the batter evenly on the baking dish, and don’t stir.
  3. On the top, add the peach mixture.
  4. Bake at 350° F for about 50-55 minutes or until the top changes its color into golden-brown and the juice is bubbly and thick.
  • Tip 

Let the cobbler set for 20-30 minutes before serving so you can cut the dessert more easily.

You can also serve it hot with vanilla ice cream or flavored yogurt (vanilla or peach yogurt).
